Brian Austin Green opened up about learning to 'pick your battles' as a co-parent during a new interview with E! News.
The 50-year-old actor, who shares Noah, 11, Bodhi, ten, and Journey, seven, with his ex-wife Megan Fox, has insisted that he has always made his children his 'number one' priority in life.
Asked about his approach to co-parenting, the actor - who recently reunited with Tori Spelling and Jason Priestly - stated: 'The number one is always make sure that everything is centered around the experience of the kids.'
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star also opened up about several other important lessons about co-parenting he had learned over the past few years.
He explained: 'The person that you were with that you're now separated from, you guys are separated for a reason, because you didn't get along.'

Green went on to state that separated parents should prioritize the well-being of their children despite the end of their romantic relationship.
He said: 'You can't expect to then get along after the fact in raising your kids. So, you have to decide, "OK, it's not about us getting along anymore. It's about us co-parenting, which is a totally different situation."'
The performer also admitted that separation inevitably makes impacts on children and that parents should navigate their splits with care.
'People make a mistake of thinking that they're gonna do things so the separation doesn't affect the kids and...of course it's gonna affect the kids. The only choice you have is how it affects the kids,' he said.
Green and Fox began dating in 2004 after they met on the set of the sitcom series Hope & Faith.
The performer was formerly linked to his Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Vanessa Marcil, and they welcomed a son named Kassius, 21, in 2002.
He eventually moved on with the Transformers actress, and the couple tied the knot in 2010.
Green and Fox, 37, started their family with Noah's birth, which took place in 2012, and they welcomed Bodhi and Journey in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
